We all have heard of chiropractors. What do they do? How do they help pain and issues? When should you see one?
A chiropractor is a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), a highly educated medical professional who is specialized in diagnosing and treating neuromuscular issues with the body, disorders of the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system and with an emphasis on manually relieving pain and improving the body’s function. They do not prescribe medications, perform surgeries or provide mental health care. What they do is care for the body by helping it become more healthy through manipulating the spine and other parts of the body to get better alignment and position. They may also have other modalities of treatment that help the body based on the specific need.
Think about it as getting the body back in order so that the body can naturally heal itself better.
And for many, the main issues that drive a visit to a chiropractor are around lower back pain and neck issues.
